REFUND POLICY

Fixtures: if for any reason, an individual decides that they would like to rescind their booking, they can do so, so long as notification is received at least 7 days before the fixture is scheduled to take place. Application for a refund should be made to the Fixtures Secretary whose contact details can be found on the Contacts page. The Society reserves the right to make a small administration charge (10%) for cancelled bookings. In the unlikely event that the Society has to cancel a fixture with little or no prospect of being able to re-arrange it, a full refund will be given and no administration charge will be made, but no other liability shall be incurred. Cancellations will not normally be accepted where they are received within 7 days of the fixture taking place, unless there is a significant and material change to the advertised route and/or motive power, and even then are at the discretion of the Fixtures Secretary.

Please note: the above terms may vary from fixture to fixture. Please refer to any terms and conditions attached to each individual fixture which will take precedence over those stated above.

Sales: No refunds will be issued once items have been dispatched, unless the items are found to be damaged in transit. For a full statement on the refund policy relating to sales items, please contact the Sales Officer whose contact details can be found on the Contacts page.

Membership: if for any reason, a new member decides that they would like to rescind their membership, they can do so within seven days of joining, in which case they will be entitled to a full refund of their membership fee. No refunds will be considered more than seven days after joining. Application for a refund should be made to the Membership Secretary whose contact details can be found on the Contacts page.

PRIVACY & COOKIE POLICY

This website does not collect any personal data – other than that physically entered by yourself in making a booking for a fixture, in purchasing sales items, or in processing a new membership application or an existing membership renewal. It categorically does not share that information with any third parties, and all information captured for the above processes is captured solely to facilitate those processes and is stored in a secure environment with no public access.

With an aim of trying to provide a site that best meets your needs and interests, we keep a record of which pages you have visited on our site for statistical analysis purposes. This information is held on a secure server with no public access, but if you are unhappy about this information being stored, please contact the Website Officer who will arrange for all records to be deleted.

This site only uses cookies which are essential to, and solely for, the working of the website (such as restricting access to member-only sections of the website). As such, these do not need explicit EU consent.

The Branch Line Society will disable your user login and password, after a suitable period of grace, if you fail to renew your membership when it is due (1st May of each year).

The content of any news item you post to the News Forum is your responsibility and the BLS accepts no responsibility for the content and cannot be held liable in any way for any inaccuracies that may be present. Posting to the forum is subject to the Terms and Conditions of using the forum, which must be acknowledged before a post is accepted. Any post that does not conform to the Terms and Conditions will be removed without warning. Repeated non-conformance could lead to a ban on posting for that individual.
